I only collect the information needed to sell and ship you a print, and I don’t sell it or use it for advertising.
Gleeshots.com is run by me, Greg Lee, a landscape photographer based in Utah. This policy explains what information the site collects when you browse or buy a print, how it’s used, and who it’s shared with.
Information I collect
When you place an order. Checkout asks for your name, billing and shipping address, and email address, along with the prints you choose. You can also add a phone number if you’d like, but it’s optional. There are no customer accounts on the site; every order is a guest checkout.
Payment details. Payments are handled by PayPal, including credit and debit card payments. Your card number goes directly to PayPal and is never seen or stored by this site.
When you email me. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
Automatically, when you browse. Like most websites, the site records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the website that referred you. Some of this is stored in cookies, described below.
How I use it
- To process your payment, print your order and ship it to you
- To send your order confirmation and answer questions about your order
- To reply when you contact me
- To understand which photos and pages people visit, so I can improve the site
- To keep the site secure and block spam and attacks
- To keep records required for taxes and accounting
I don’t send marketing emails or newsletters, and I don’t sell, rent or trade your information.
Who I share it with
I share information only with the services needed to run the shop, and only what each one needs:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Your name, billing details, order total and payment information | To process your payment, under PayPal’s privacy statement |
| My professional print lab | Your name, shipping address and the prints ordered | To print and ship your order |
| Shipping carriers (through the print lab) | Your name and shipping address | To deliver your order |
| My web host | All site data, stored on their servers | To run the website and its email |
I may also disclose information if required by law, such as a valid court order.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser stores. This site uses them for the following:
| Purpose | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shopping cart | Remembers the prints in your cart as you move between pages |
| Order source | Records how you arrived at the site (for example, a search engine or a link), saved with your order so I know which sources bring customers |
| Site statistics | StatCounter, an analytics service, counts visits and records pages viewed, referring sites and general location based on IP address. See StatCounter’s privacy policy, or opt out of StatCounter tracking |
| Sale popup | Remembers that you closed the discount popup so it doesn’t keep appearing |
| Security | The site’s security software logs IP addresses and activity to block spam and attacks |
| Payment | PayPal may set its own cookies during checkout |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The cart and checkout need cookies to work, but you can browse the galleries without them.
Share buttons and outside services
The photo viewer may offer buttons for sharing a photo on Pinterest, Facebook or X, by email, or through your device’s share menu. Nothing is shared unless you click one. When you do, the service you share to (such as Pinterest, Facebook or X) handles it under its own privacy policy. The Facebook button simply opens Facebook’s share window when you click it; Facebook’s own scripts don’t load on this site.
Some page elements, such as icons and fonts, load from outside providers. Like any website you visit, those providers can see your IP address when your browser requests them.
The site also links to my pages on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Etsy. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you visit them.
How long I keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for taxes, accounting and any questions about an order, generally up to seven years. Emails are kept as long as they’re useful for answering you. Site statistics and security logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
How it’s protected
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, security software, and regular backups. Payments are handled entirely by PayPal. No website is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices
You can email me to ask what information I have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. I’ll do so unless I’m required to keep it, such as order records needed for taxes. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights under state law, and I’ll honor them.
Children
This site is meant for adults buying prints. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I’ll post the new version here with an updated date.
